All products sold by Tropical Pool Store come with consumer guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. The voluntary warranties described on this page are provided in addition to those rights and do not replace, restrict or reduce any remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where expressly stated, the pro-rata period is an additional voluntary extended benefit offered after the full voluntary warranty period. It is available to eligible Australian and New Zealand customers and is not available to customers outside Australia and New Zealand.
Salt-chlorinator cells are electrochemical components. Their electrode coating is gradually consumed while producing chlorine, and output can reduce with age, operating hours, water balance, salt level and maintenance. Gradual consumption, normal wear or reaching the end of service life is not, by itself, a defect in materials or workmanship. This does not limit any applicable consumer right where a properly used and maintained product is not as durable as it was designed to be.

Calculation basis: for an approved claim under the pro-rata extension, the customer contribution is the applicable percentage of the then-current advertised Australian retail price, including GST, of the replacement product at the time the claim is approved. If the original model is unavailable, the closest current equivalent may be used. No pro-rata charge applies where the customer is entitled to a free remedy under the ACL.

Tropical Pool Store provides the voluntary warranty stated on the product page at the time of purchase. Warranty periods begin on the original purchase date shown on the invoice or receipt, not the installation date. These benefits are additional to rights and remedies under the Australian Consumer Law.
This voluntary warranty applies to products purchased directly from Tropical Pool Store’s Australian website by customers in Australia or New Zealand. Australian and New Zealand customers receive the same benefits under this voluntary warranty. Customers outside Australia and New Zealand are not eligible for the additional voluntary extended benefit. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Products expressly indicating a 4-Year Limited Warranty receive a full voluntary warranty during years 1 and 2. Approved claims during years 3 and 4 receive the additional voluntary pro-rata replacement benefit shown in the Pro Rata Schedule. This voluntary extended benefit is provided at no additional purchase cost.

For an approved claim during years 3 or 4 of the 4-Year Limited Warranty, the customer contribution is 50% in year 3 and 70% in year 4. The contribution is calculated from the then-current advertised Australian retail price, including GST, of the replacement product when the claim is approved. If the original model is unavailable, Tropical Pool Store may nominate the closest current equivalent. This pro-rata arrangement is a separate additional voluntary extended benefit; it is not used to reduce a remedy that must be provided free under the ACL.
The voluntary warranty applies to the original purchaser. The customer must provide proof of purchase, product identification and the information reasonably required to assess the claim. The warranty is for normal residential use unless commercial coverage is expressly stated. The warranty is not transferable.
Unless a product page expressly states otherwise, products used in commercial, public, communal or regulated pools carry a 12-month voluntary warranty and no pro-rata extension. Express commercial coverage, including the stated Speck pump warranty, prevails.
Submit the online Warranty Claim Form at https://tropicalpoolstore.com.au/pages/online-warranty-form or contact Tropical Pool Store. Provide the order or invoice number, product model and serial number where applicable, a description of the fault, requested photographs or video, current pool-water test results and details of troubleshooting already completed.
Tropical Pool Store may inspect and test the product before deciding a voluntary warranty claim. For an approved claim, Tropical Pool Store may repair the product or provide a new or refurbished replacement of the same or closest equivalent type. Any notice required before using refurbished parts or providing refurbished goods will be given when applicable.
Contact Tropical Pool Store before returning any product. During the first 90 days from purchase, Tropical Pool Store will arrange or cover reasonable return freight for a voluntary warranty assessment when return is requested. After 90 days, the customer initially pays the cost of returning an easily posted product to the nominated facility. For an approved voluntary warranty claim, Tropical Pool Store pays the freight for the repaired or replacement product back to the customer.
Repair or replacement does not restart the stated voluntary warranty. The repaired or replacement product remains covered for the balance of the original voluntary warranty period calculated from the original purchase date. This does not limit consumer guarantees that apply to replacement goods under the ACL.
The product must be correctly selected, installed, operated and maintained in accordance with applicable instructions. Pool water, salt and chemical levels must be maintained within the recommended ranges. Cells must be inspected and cleaned only when required and only by an approved method. Electrical work must be completed by a suitably qualified person where required.

To the extent permitted by law, the voluntary warranty does not cover a failure to the extent it was caused or contributed to by incorrect installation; incompatible equipment; misuse; neglect; accidental or physical damage; unauthorised repair or alteration; operation outside specifications; incorrect water chemistry or salt level; scale or mineral build-up caused by inadequate maintenance; unapproved cleaning chemicals or methods; reversed polarity; incorrect cell type; loose, dirty, corroded or damaged electrical connections; power surge; lightning; flooding; fire; vermin; water entry; or another external event outside reasonable control. The voluntary warranty does not cover acts of nature.
A claim will not be declined merely because an exclusion exists. Tropical Pool Store will assess whether the excluded event caused or contributed to the reported failure. These voluntary warranty conditions do not remove any customer rights.
A product sold by Tropical Pool Store without an expressly stated voluntary warranty period carries a 12-month voluntary warranty from the original purchase date.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure.
You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
